aneto

Oenologist : Francisco Montenegro

Originally working for a port wine company, Francisco Montenegro recently bought a small vineyard of 7 acres near the river Tua.

The vines are aged of 30 years and have a very low yield of 20 hectoliters per hectare.

Fermentation takes place in lagares where the grapes are trampled. The wine is then 12 months in French oak barrels.

Aneto is the name of a medicinal and aromatic plant that is wild in this region. It was considered a magical herb to make love potions.
